Did you know we have an in-house meteorologist? While Katie Virtue Guidotti may not give us the rundown of the weather on the regular, she does investigate, present, and implement awesome SEO strategies for our clients. As an SEO Account Manager, Katie has taken on some challenging projects in her 11 months as a full-time Results Repeat team member. Prior to joining us full-time, Katie did some part-time work for Results Repeat, so she’s truly been a part of the team for about two years. When she’s not calculating ideal SEO strategies, or dabbling in meteorology, what can you find her doing?
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Friendly. Funny. Thoughtful.
It’s a typical Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., what are you doing?
Everything and anything! I love taking quiet time on a Saturday to read and relax. But you can also find my husband and I hanging out with friends and family, or working on a home improvement project.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The “Big Island” – Hawai’i. My husband and I spent a week exploring Hawai’I and it was an amazing adventure. We hiked the lava flows of Mauna Loa, explored the breathtaking Pololu Valley, and stargazed at 9,000ft. elevation on Mauna Kea. I will never forget seeing the Milky Way spread across the sky and feeling like we were being smothered by stars. The entire island was intensely beautiful and I would love to go back.
What characteristic do you most admire in others?
Authenticity. I love when people can be honest about who they are and not feel the need to hide their true selves.
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
As a kid, I always wanted to be an astronaut. But as an adult, I have to admit that it doesn’t seem like a very fun job. I think now I’d like to be a tour guide at a historical site like Independence Hall. I love history and storytelling, so I think it would be great to connect people to the past in a fun way.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
I bought a Steelers jersey for my husband for Christmas. Yes, this Eagles football fan is married to a Steelers fan. But he’s a good sport and always willing to cheer on the Birds.
If you could give advice to your 13-year-old self, what would you say?
Don’t be afraid to try anything. I think we tend to look at someone who is successful and forget about that first moment when they had to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. There are a million moments like that in life and I would want to encourage my 13-year-old self to take the leap because you can’t get anywhere if you don’t try.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I used to be on TV! I majored in Meteorology at Penn State University and spent about 10 years as a broadcast meteorologist at TV stations in Rock Island, IL, Albany, NY, and Charlotte, NC. It wasn’t the easiest job, but I had the opportunity to see and do so much, from riding in a biplane to sitting front row at a NASCAR race. I even met Barack Obama way back when he was running for the Senate in Illinois. But I truly love the science behind weather and weather forecasting, and now I get to enjoy it as a hobby.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
I would love to go skydiving, visit the Arctic to see the Aurora Borealis, and sit right behind home plate at a Phillies game.
What are you most proud of?
How far I’ve come and the work I’ve accomplished along the way, from sharing my love of weather with viewers to building effective SEO strategy for clients.
