Sergey

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Shy. Happy. Curious.

It’s a typical Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., what are you doing?

Probably spending time with my wife (Rachel) my daughter (Genevieve) and our family. Saturdays are reserved (unofficially) for family time and I don’t even check my emails until late at night.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

Japan. I’ve always loved the culture of that country. I love the architecture, nature, people.

What characteristic do you most admire in others?

 Loyalty.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I would help people via emotional or physical help. I’ve always wanted to start my own non-profit.

What was the last gift you gave someone?

Flowers to my wife. I try to give flowers as often as I can.

If you could give advice to your 13-year-old self, what would you say?

Dude, don’t be shy. Talk more to girls 🙂

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I think you already know a lot about me. I used to do biathlon (skiing and shooting a rifle) when I was maybe 10? I did that until about 13. I only had two friends growing up; I was always an outsider for some reason. I spent my life moving a lot in Russia, Ukraine and then in USA.  I probably moved around 20-22 times. And I would say 14 times was just in the US, in the past 10 years out of 18 that I’ve been living here.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

I want to buy a Jeep Wrangler (no joke, this is a dream of mine) all hooked up. I would also like to live outside of the U.S. for some time (maybe Japan or UK/Germany/Czech Rep). I was thinking maybe of doing one of those long mountain climbs (which I never did before, but I think I would love to push myself to climb Everest).

What are you most proud of?

My family: my wife, my daughter, my mom, my sister. I love my family and I always cheer them on and am happy when they succeed at something new.
